There was a time when Joe Swanberg was the most indie of indie directors, making no-budget movies with his friends, and mostly existing in a very specific niche of the film world. And while he’s not quite Steven Spielberg, Swanberg’s career has certainly ascended, and sees him able to gather an increasingly impressive array of well known stars for his projects. And for his upcoming anthology series “Easy,” set to be unveiled on Netflix, he’s gathered his most extensive ensemble yet.
Orlando Bloom, Malin Akerman, Jake Johnson, Marc Maron, Dave Franco, Hannibal Buress, Emily Ratajkowski, Michael Chernus, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Aya Cash, Jane Adams, Elizabeth Reaser, Evan Jonigkeit and many more star in the series which takes a look at modern romance and sex. It’s a simple enough premise, but it looks like everyone involved is having fun with it.
“Easy” takes it off and gets it on September 22nd. [Vulture]
