As “Reservation Dogs” is only mid-way through their first season, it’s been announced that the series has been officially picked for a second season by FX on Hulu. The comedic series focuses on a group of indigenous teenagers on a reservation in rural Oklahoma and was co-created by Taika Waititi and Sterlin Harjo.

It stars D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, Devery Jacobs, Paulina Alexis, and Lane Factor.
The Hollywood Reporter shared the news of the second season and a statement from Nick Grad, president of original programming at FX.
“We couldn’t wait to share ‘Reservation Dogs’ with viewers and are thrilled that they seem to love it as much as we do. We’re happy to put in an early order for another season,” Grad said of the second season order.
“Reservations Dogs” is a rare creative gem where every writer, director, and actor is indigenous.
Harjo is developing an indigenous true-crime series “Yellowbird” with Erica Tremblay (“Little Chief“) for Paramount+, which is an adaptation of Sierra Crane Murdoch’s novel “Yellow Bird: Oil, Murder & A Woman’s Search For Justice In Indian Country.”
Taika Waititi, as you’d imagine, is a busy bee too with an HBO Max series “Our Flag Means Death,” being in post on upcoming films “Next Goal Wins” and “Thor: Love & Thunder,” his other FX series “What We Do In The Shadows.” Projects like “Flash Gordon” and his untitled “Star Wars” pic are still in the scripting phases and hopes to make the Warner Bros. “Akira” feature adaptation at some point.
“From Sterlin Harjo and Taika Waititi, Reservation Dogs is a half-hour comedy that follows the exploits of four Indigenous teenagers in rural Oklahoma who steal, rob, and save in order to get to the exotic, mysterious, and faraway land of California. The show’s first-of-its-kind Indigenous creative team invites audiences into a surprisingly familiar and funny world.”
