Robert Pattinson Reportedly Joins Christopher Nolan's Next Film

If there is a young actor out there that is attached to a major franchise and wants to know how to navigate their career after the franchise is over, use Robert Pattinson as your guide. After becoming the biggest heartthrob around the world thanks to the “Twilight” series of films, Pattinson used that fame and notoriety and starred in whatever film he wanted to afterward, with most of them tending to be indie works with incredible young and established directors. Now, combining the star power achieved from “Twilight” with the acting credibility established since then, Pattinson has now secured a lead role in the upcoming Christopher Nolan film.

According to Collider, Pattinson is the second actor added to the upcoming, still-untitled Nolan film, joining yesterday’s announced John David Washington. And much like yesterday’s announcement, we have no clue what role Pattinson or his co-star will have in the film. Collider does say that Nolan is on the hunt for two other leads, including a female lead and an older male, as well. So, the casting news won’t end here.

Also, there’s no real indication what this Nolan film will be like, either. Early reports said it was going to be “North by Northwest” meets “Inception.” Collider says that rumors have been floating around that it could be more of a sequel to the latter film. But again, the studio has been completely mum on details, so Nolan’s latest could be a new “Star Wars” spin-off film for all we know.

Pattinson has earned some serious acting cred over the past few years with his roles in films like “The Lost City of Z,” “Good Time,” “High Life,” and the upcoming films “The Lighthouse” and “The Devil All the Time.” The actor has come full circle since his days as a sparkly vampire and has built himself up to be one of the best actors working today.

The untitled Nolan film will hit theaters (on the biggest and best screens possible, naturally) on July 17, 2020.
