Got a Tip?

All Rotten Tomatoes Certified Fresh Films For 2017

As I wrote in our Most Underrated & Overrated Of 2017 feature, I would be beyond thrilled if the obsession over Rotten Tomatoes scores ended the moment the clock strikes 12:01 AM on January 1, 2018. But until then, the silly fussing over aggregate scores will continue, as movie fans who would dare not like the same film they do or TV show they do.

Okay, #rantover, so let’s dive into Rotten Tomatoes’ list of films that were Certified Fresh in 2017 (that means films that scored 75% or higher, with reviews from at least 80 critics). Of course, the big one everyone will notice is “Lady Bird,” the former all-time, best-reviewed movie on Rotten Tomatoes, with 164 “Fresh” reviews, until that one guy ruined it all. Meanwhile, the list serves as a good reminder that you should really track down “Brawl In Cell Block 99,” and if you need suggestions on what to binge this weekend, this roundup of titles should fill your queue and then some.

Take a look at the full list below, and let’s hope we can stop treating movies like sports matches in the new year.
