There’s a fine art to dancing around the details of a hugely anticipated blockbuster and still stoking excitement, and simply running out of things to say, and it seems Zack Snyder has run into the latter category lately. With five months to go until "Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice" arrives, plenty of secrets are still under wraps, which has left the director talking about the Batmobile and Batsuit, which isn’t the most involving thing in the world to read about.
"The new Batmobile is super fast and is purpose built which I like. We imagine that Batman built it over time, you know, with parts from Wayne Industries or something. He’s made it specifically for the job of fighting crime," he told IGN. "I’m not gonna give it away, but it does a lot of cool stuff in the movie…" Like I said, it’s not the most scintillating revelation.

Meanwhile, he also explained the evolution of Bruce Wayne’s crime-fighting gear that Ben Affleck will be wearing. "I don’t know if you know anything about the process, but what you do is over months of meticulous designing and editing, you come to an aesthetic you believe will be the Batman you want to see," the director said (via Variety). "Along with my costume designer Michael Wilkinson, we did just that and we came to the point where we were going to test the suit on Ben [Affleck]. So, we had built a set of an alley, graffiti, barrels with fire, steamy stuff, and it was this very kind of noir-ish setting to film our Batman for the first time. Ben put the suit on and we put him in front of the camera and I was just having him turn and look around looking Batman-ish, and it was amazing because I felt in that moment that I had achieved this goal that I had set out for myself. When I looked at Ben, he was the perfect personification of the Batman I had in my mind."
And while all that talk of dark, noir-ish settings seems to indicate a firm inspiration from Frank Miller‘s "The Dark Knight Returns," which Snyder has cited, the filmmaker cautions not to read too much into that. "I was talking to Frank about it: ‘Dark Knight Returns’ was such a big influence on me, that I wanted to to honor him through imagery in the movie. You could still make ‘Dark Knight Returns’ into a movie, if you want," the director said. "That’s what I’m saying, as far as how much we used and how much we didn’t use. The visual elements, there are some that I homage, but I don’t think the movie ."
But enough that boring stuff, let’s get to the goods, and warning, **SPOILERS AHEAD**. As we already know, it won’t just be Batman and Superman bringing the business in ‘Dawn Of Justice,’ but Wonder Woman will be in the fight too, with her own solo movie coming in 2017. But where will "Wonder Woman" fit in the timeline? Who will she fight? When will the movie be set? Well, recent rumors are answering all those questions.
JoBlo reveals that "Wonder Woman" is a prequel of sorts, with the story set a few months before the events of "Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice." It will mostly be a present day set tale, following Circe and Ares (last month, Heroic Hollywood revealed Sean Bean and Eva Green were being eyed for the roles), as they try to light the fuse of World War III. This sort of matches a recent report from Den Of Geek that the film will have three settings — starting with 1940s Themyscira; World War I in the middle; and the modern day at the end the story leading into "Justice League: Part One" — though JoBlo says that while Wonder Woman will tell Steve Trevor about her first battle with Ares circa World War I, the movie may or may not flashback to that era. And they seem to suggest that there may not be a direct lead in to ‘Justice League.’
Meanwhile, Batman will apparently make a small appearance in the story, watching as Wonder Woman saves civilian lives during a battle with Ares, which likely means a great deal to the Caped Crusader given his thoughts on Superman being too reckless and a danger to humanity. And yes, The Invisible Jet will feature somewhere in the movie.
