Sacha Baron Cohen's Character Responds To Palin's Accusations Of "Duping"

Yesterday, we talked about how Sarah Palin was pissed at comedian Sacha Baron Cohen for “duping” her and making her part of his upcoming Showtime series “Who is America?” She wrote, at length, about how “evil” and “truly sick” the actor is for portraying a disabled veteran and treating her like an idiot. Well, Sacha Baron Cohen hasn’t responded to her claims yet, but someone did.

You see, it wasn’t Baron Cohen’s fault at all! In fact, Baron Cohen wasn’t even there to begin with. Instead, she was being interviewed by Dr. Billy Wayne Ruddick, Jr, and he wants to clear up a few things with Mrs. Palin.

In a tweet from his personal Twitter account (again, not related to Baron Cohen, in any way), Ruddick said, “I am Dr. Billy Wayne Ruddick, founder/ceo/accountant of Truthbrary.org and it was I that interviewed you. I did NOT say I was a War Vet. I was in the service – not military, but United Parcel, and I only fought for my country once – when I shot a Mexican who came onto my property.”

He goes on to praise Palin for her fight for Obama’s birth certificate and how she knows where Russia is on a map. Ruddick ends his tweet by saying, “I DEMAND AN APOLOGY.”

Boy, I bet Palin feels like a fool now! And don’t worry, before you question the validity of the statement above and assume it’s just Baron Cohen doing one of his characters again (like he’s ever known for doing that?), we put the crack detective staff at The Playlist on the case, and guess what? It checks out!

If you go on Ruddick’s Twitter page, you see a history of tweets and a link to his Truthbrary website. Obviously, he’s a real person. Would Sacha Baron Cohen go to these great lengths to perpetuate a ruse to market his upcoming Showtime series? No way!

Guess we’ll find out when “Who is America?” premieres on Showtime on July 15.
