After an Oscar-winning debut with the release of “Promising Young Woman,” all eyes have been on Emerald Fennell as she preps the debut of her sophomore film, “Saltburn.” Well, as we approach the fall and awards season, we are finally getting our first look at the highly-anticipated drama.
“Saltburn” follows the story of a young Oxford student, Oliver, who finds himself swept away to the aristocratic world of his classmate, Felix, as the duo makes their way to the latter’s Saltburn estate. That’s when all the craziness begins in a summer that will never be forgotten. And when you take into consideration the surprises found in “Promising Young Woman,” you have to assume Fennell has some tricks up her sleeve.
As mentioned, “Saltburn” is written and directed by Fennell. The film stars Barry Keoghan, Jacob Elordi, Rosamund Pike, Richard E. Grant, Alison Oliver, Archie Madekwe, and Carey Mulligan. Producers on the film include Margot Robbie and Josey McNamara of LuckyChap Entertainment.
“Saltburn” has been selected as the Opening Night film at the BFI London Film Festival and will eventually make its way to theaters on November 24. You can see the first-look images below.
