After turning “Anora” into one of the defining indie success stories of the last year, Oscar-winning writer/director Sean Baker has set his next feature. It is titled “Ti Amo!” and was announced Tuesday at CinemaCon as part of Warner Bros.’ rollout for its new specialty label, Clockwork, with the film set for a 2027 release.

That gives Baker’s next move a little extra weight beyond the usual post-awards follow-up. “Ti Amo!” is not just his first feature after “Anora,” but the first title Warner is using to define Clockwork, the new banner led by former Neon executive Christian Parkes. Parkes will report to Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy, with the label expected to handle a small number of filmmaker-driven releases each year rather than operate as a volume play.
“Sean Baker is an artist who embodies everything we believe in at Clockwork, and TI AMO! will be another gift to Cinema. Plus, his poster game is on point,” said Parkes.
Baker had already telegraphed the film’s sensibility earlier this year, calling “Ti Amo!” “My love letter to the Italian sex comedies of the ’60s and ’70s.” It also sounds in line with work he has already done in films like “Red Rocket,” “Anora,” “Tangerine,” and “Starlet,” which all engage sex work and life on the margins in different ways.
The current package is otherwise pretty direct. Baker will write, direct, edit, cast, and produce the film, reuniting with his “Anora” producing team of Alex Coco and Samantha Quan. No cast has been announced yet, and Warner has not released a fuller synopsis. But the essentials are enough to make the basic shape of it clear enough. “Ti Amo!” is set for release in 2027.
