'Shang-Chi' Star Simu Liu Targets Ryan Reynolds & 'RIPD' In A Diss Track For Russo Brothers' Fantasy Football League

Simu Liu might not be a household name yet, but that’s going to change in 2021, when the world is introduced to the actor in the Marvel Studios film, “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.” However, in the meantime, his membership into the MCU brotherhood is good enough for him to take part in the highly-publicized fantasy football league hosted by the Russo Brothers. And while he’s maybe not up there with the famous Chrises or his fantasy opponent Ryan Reynolds, Liu took time to film a “diss track” aimed at the “Deadpool” star as a form of intimidation as they go into this week’s football games.

Look, normally we wouldn’t cover these sorts of things, but the world needs to laugh. We’re still dealing with the fallout of last week’s Presidential Election (Twitter is a shitshow), there’s a pandemic that is still killing thousands, and the economy continues to suffer. So, why not take a minute and watch the future star of ‘Shang-Chi’ make fun of Ryan Reynolds and his, uh, eclectic filmography.

This isn’t the first time that the Russo Brothers’ famous fantasy football league was the subject of competitive video-making. Previously, we saw Paul Rudd take on a Black Sabbath classic in a video poking fun at Robert Downey, Jr. And we’ve also seen appearances from Chris Hemsworth and other Marvel mainstays in their own trash-talking segments.

And who better to get hammered than Reynolds? This is a guy that has made a career out of poking fun at some of the biggest names in Hollywood, with Hugh Jackman being a frequent target of his shenanigans. Though we’re not sure how Liu’s diss track will be received by Reynolds, odds are we’ll see some sort of response soon enough.

Until then, let’s hear Simu Liu joke about “Green Lantern” and “RIPD,” both very easy targets. You can watch the video below:

And if you’re unfamiliar with “RIPD,” here’s the trailer:
