‘Snowpiercer’ Trailer: The Long-Awaited TV Adaptation Arrives In May

The TV adaptation of “Snowpiercer” has been one of the more troubled productions in recent memory. Literally in development for years, with showrunners coming and going, directors departing (in very public ways), and network changes aplenty, it’s taken quite a while for the TV version of the story to arrive. But yet, we are now less than a month away, finally.

And as seen in the new trailer for “Snowpiercer,” the TV series follows a very similar story to Bong Joon Ho’s film of the same name, featuring a group of impoverished folks living in the back of a massive train that is running around the world in a post-apocalyptic future where climate change has wrecked the planet. The train is the product of an evil corporation that has split the population into various cars based on class. You know, as you do.

The cast for the new series includes Jennifer Connelly, Daveed Diggs, Alison Wright, Mickey Sumner, Susan Park, Iddo Goldberg, Katie McGuinness, Lena Hall, Annalise Basso, Sam Otto, Roberto Urbina, Sheila Vand, and Jaylin Fletcher. “Snowpiercer” is written by showrunner Graeme Manson.

“Snowpiercer” is finally set to arrive on TNT on May 17. You can watch the new trailer below.

Here’s the official synopsis:

Set more than seven years after the world has become a frozen wasteland, Snowpiercer centers on the remnants of humanity who inhabit a perpetually moving train, with 1001 cars, that circles the globe. Class warfare, social injustice and the politics of survival play out in this riveting television adaptation.
