Sony Planning ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ Re-Release With Four Minutes Of Deleted Scenes

Thanks to a business-savvy re-expansion with new footage, “Avengers: Endgame” recently was able to add some extra cash to its box office total and overtake “Avatar” to become the biggest film of all time. Now, following in its footsteps, Sony has decided to do the same thing with “Spider-Man: Far From Home,” but with actual deleted scenes added to the film.

According to THR, Sony has announced that it’s ‘Spider-Man’ sequel, which has quickly become the biggest film ever released by the studio, will re-expand into more theaters for Labor Day weekend. And to entice fans to come out and watch ‘Far From Home’ one more time is the fact that the studio is adding four minutes worth of action back to the film, though Sony is being coy about what those scenes actually entail.

What we do know is that there is actually plenty of new footage that could be added to ‘Spider-Man,’ as opposed to ‘Endgame,’ which didn’t have much to choose from. If you watch the first trailer for ‘Far From Home,’ there are scenes that featured Peter going to run errands before his school trip. While out and about, he actually broke up a crime along the way.

When the film was first released, director Jon Watts said that these scenes would be pulled together for a short film that would be added to the Blu-ray. Of course, he didn’t think there’d be a re-expansion with deleted scenes, so the obvious choice would be to add that footage back to the film. But considering that Sony said that the four minutes would be action-heavy, the studio could also surprise fans with something completely different.

Let’s be real though if you’re going to spend money to see the film again for the holiday weekend, it didn’t matter which scenes Sony adds. Your ticket is going to be purchased anyway.
