Now it sounds like a great last adventure for one of cinema’s most iconic action characters, kind of like what “Logan” was, which saw the death of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine. It seems that Stallone, who co-wrote the film with Matt Cirulnick (“Absentia”), will be doing what Jackman did with Logan. This film seems like it would be a fitting end for the titular character, just like how Logan was a perfect end for the former X-Man. However in an interview at the Cannes Film Festival this year, Stallone said he’d be happy to play Rambo for a sixth time if it performs well. He said, “Let me just say something about the ‘last’ of anything. I thought Rocky 3 was the last, you know. So I don’t know anything. If it works, I’ll just keep going, you know, because I enjoy it so much.”

The director for Rambo’s fifth installment is Adrian Grunberg, who has worked on “Jack Reacher: Never Go Back” and “Man On Fire,” has also been vocal about the potential of this being the last one. He spoke to Total Film Magazine about how he wanted it, personally, to be the last one. Paz Vega (“Kill The Messenger”), Sergio Peris-Mencheta (“Resident Evil: Afterlife”) and Adrianna Barraza (“Thor”) will all star alongside Stallone.

Here is the synopsis:
