‘Star Trek: Picard’ Teaser: Patrick Stewart Is Back In Action With A New ‘Trek’ Streaming Series

What’s Admiral Jean-Luc Picard to do after saving the universe on multiple occasions and commanding one of the biggest fleets in history? Well, apparently, he just wants to make some wine. And in the new series “Star Trek: Picard,” it appears we’ll find out what it’ll take to get the fan-favorite character out of retirement and back in space.

As seen in the teaser for the upcoming streaming series, ‘Picard’ tells the story of the lead character from “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” who has to stop what he’s doing on his vineyard and join the ranks of Starfleet once again, 15 years after he left. What is the driving force that will get the retired commander back in action? We have no clue. At least, the teaser doesn’t tell us anything. All it really does is show us that Picard has found a pretty great life outside of Starfleet.

‘Picard’ joins the ever-growing resurrected “Star Trek” TV franchise, which has found new life on CBS All Access. After two popular seasons of “Star Trek: Discovery,” CBS is expanding the ‘Trek’ offerings with ‘Picard’ and is already deep into development of more projects. This surge in TV popularity is timed pretty well with a lull in the reboot universe’s movie offerings.

Joining the amazing Patrick Stewart in the cast are Alison Pill, Michelle Hurd, Evan Evagora, Isa Briones, Santiago Cabrera, and Harry Treadaway. We’re going to guess that there might be several cameos from ‘The Next Generation’ cast members sometime in the future. Those are all but a guarantee at this point, right?

“Star Trek: Picard” is “coming soon” to CBS All Access.
