“The Afterparty” Season 2
Christopher Miller’s series was designed to be an anthology series, with each season focusing on a different murder. The second season will be at a wedding in which every wedding guest is a suspect. The cast includes Tiffany Haddish, Sam Richardson, Zoe Chao, Paul Walter Hauser, Ken Jeong, and John Cho, among many others.
Release Date: July 12 on Apple TV+.
“Twisted Metal”
Taken from the classic PlayStation game series, “Twisted Metal” is a high-octane action comedy based on an original take by “Deadpool” writers Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick and written by Michael Jonathan Smith. About a motor-mouthed outsider offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland, the series stars Anthony Mackie in the lead, plus Stephanie Beatriz, Thomas Haden Church, with Will Arnett and Joe Seanoa, featuring guest stars like Neve Campbell and Richard Cabral.
Release Date: July 27 on Peacock.
“Heartstopper” Season 2
A British coming-of-age romantic comedy-drama, “Heartstopper” tells the story of Charlie (Joe Locke), a gay schoolboy who falls in love with classmate Nick Nelson. In season two, Charlie and Nick (Kit Connor) navigate their new relationship, Tara (Corinna Brown) and Darcy (Kizzy Edgell) face unforeseen challenges, and Tao (William Gao) and Elle (Yasmin Finney) work out if they can ever be more than just friends.
Release Date: August 3 on Netflix.
“Ahsoka”
After becoming a fan-favorite during “Clone Wars,” Ahsoka Tano is getting her own series. The series follows Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy after the fall of the Galactic Empire. The series stars Rosario Dawson and Wes Chatham.
Release Date: A precise release date has yet to be revealed, but we know it is set to premiere in August on Disney+.
“True Detective: Night Country”
An anthology series that follow the police investigations that unearth the personal and professional secrets of those involved. “Night Country” is set in Alaska when a group of men disappears, with Jodie Foster at the helm of the investigation. We will also see Kali Reis, John Hawkes, Finn Bennett, Christopher Eccleston, Aka Niviana, and Joel Montgrand joining the cast.
Release Date: Expected this summer on HBO.
“Three Women”
Adapted from Lisa Taddeo’s novel of the same name, “Three Women” has a new home. Originally released on Showtime, the series has moved to Starz. The drama series is a portrait of women reclaiming their lives. The series stars Shailene Woodley, Betty Gilpin, DeWanda Wise, Blair Underwood, and Gabrielle Creevy.
Release Date: An exact release date has yet to be announced.
“Full Circle”
A botched kidnapping uncovers long-held secrets connecting multiple people across New York City. “Full Circle” stars Jharrel Jerome, Alex Winter, Jim Gaffigan, Claire Danes, Dennis Quaid, Zazie Beetz, and Timothy Olyphant. The mini-series is written by Ed Solomon and directed by Steven Soderbergh. Release Date: TBD on HBO Max, but it does make its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in June, likely shortly after that.
“Clone High”
This modern refresh of the Phil Lord, Chris Miller, and Bill Lawrence (“Ted Lasso,”) animated hit series “Clone High” is set at a high school for clones of historical figures. Returning stars include Will Forte as Abe and Nicole Sullivan as Joan; executive producers Phil Lord as Scudworth and Chris Miller as JFK and Mr. B; Christa Miller voicing “Candide Sampson; Donald Faison as George Washington Carver; and Judah Miller as Scangrade.

“Expats”
Described as a look at the personal and professional lives of a group of expatriates living in Hong Kong, the series is based on the novel by Janice Y.K. Lee, “The Expatriates.” The series stars Sarayu Blue, Nicole Kidman, Jack Huston, and Brian Tee and comes from acclaimed filmmaker Lulu Wang (“The Farewell“).
Release Date: The release date is TBD but expected this year on Prime Video.
“Lessons in Chemistry”
Based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Bonnie Garmus, “Lessons In Chemistry” stars Brie Larson, Lewis Pullman, Aja Naomi King, and Beau Bridges. The series is set in the 1950s and tells the story of Elizabeth Zott, whose dreams must be put on hold because women belong in the domestic sections of life, not the science ones. When she finds herself alone and pregnant, she does what she can to make ends meet and find her way back to science.
Release Date: No release date has been given, but Apple has teased an early fall time frame, so perhaps we’re looking at early September.
