Emily In Paris” (Season 4)
The show almost everyone loves to hate but still watches anyway returns for a fourth season. And the big question for all its hardcore fans? Will Emily (Lily Collins) and Gabrielle (Lucas Bravo) finally get together? And how does a trip to Rome fit into all of it? Only series creator Darren Star and his writing team know for sure.
Premiere Date: Part 1 premieres August 14 on Netflix.

Fantasmas
Formerly titled “Little Films,” comedian/writer Julio Torres, known for HBO’s “Los Espookys” and this year’s fantastical A24 movie “Problemista,” returns with a new comedy series on HBO. Now titled “Fantasmas,” the series sounds typically surrealist and fanciful for Torrest, telling eerie comedic stories about outsiders navigating an increasingly corporate and rapidly changing New York City. Producers include Dave McCary and Emma Stone for Fruit Tree. However, not much else is known, and the rest of it is under wraps.
Premiere Date: TBD summer via HBO.

Industry” (Season 3)
We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again. HBO’s best-kept secret show is absolutely “Industry,” the series about a young, ambitious group of graduates trying to navigate the cutthroat world of high-finance investment banking in London. Created by Mickey Down and Konrad Kay, now that “Succession” is over, “Industry,” which features similar compelling and vicious dramas, seems poised to take over if HBO can just figure out how to transfer the same viewer over. The series has already produced several breakout stars, including Marisa Abela (who stars in the Amy Winehouse biopic “Back To Black”) and A24 darling Myha’la Herrold (“Bodies Bodies Bodies”). In fact, everyone else on the series feels like they’re on the verge of breaking out, too, including Harry Lawtey, David Jonsson, Conor MacNeill, and Freya Mavor. Ken Leung co-stars. The show always has intriguing guest stars (Jay Duplass in season two), and the feature players for season three include Kit Harington and “Barry” star Sarah Golberg.
Premiere Date: TBD summer via HBO.

“Time Bandits”
Terry Gilliam’s 1981 fantasy adventure film “Time Bandits” becomes a series courtesy of creators and producers Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement, the same pair behind “What We Do In The Shadows.” The series, which stars Lisa Kudrow, Kal-El Tuck, Charlyne Yi, Tadhg Murphy, Roger Jean Nsengiyumva, Rune Temte, Kiera Thompson, and Rachel House, centers on a ragtag group of thieves traveling through space and time and their newest recruit: an eleven-year-old history nerd. The quest: save the boy’s parents and the world.
Premiere Date: TBD Summer, via Apple TV+.

“Pachinko” (Season 2)
Created by Soo Hugh and winner of 11 international awards, including a Peabody Award, an American Film Institute Award, a Critics Choice Award, and a Gotham Independent Film Award, “Pachinko” returns for its second season this summer. Based on The New York Times bestselling novel “Pachinko” details the living conditions and discrimination of Korean immigrants in Japanese society. It’s also a sweeping and deeply moving story of love and survival across four generations. THe series stars Minha Kim, Yuh-Jung Youn, Jin Ha, Min Ho Lee, Eun Chae Jung, Soji Arai, Anna Sawai, Junwoo Han, and Sungkyu Kim. Directors on season one included Justin Chon and Kogonada, and the latter remains an executive producer on the series. Let’s hope that means he’s back on filmmaking duties.
Premiere Date: TBD summer on Apple TV+.

“The Woman In Blue”
Inspired by the thrilling true stories of Mexico’s first female police force, starring Ariel Award nominee Bárbara Mori and from International Emmy Award winner and creator Fernando Rovzar (“Monarca,” “Sr. Ávila”) and Pablo Aramendi (“José José,” “Tijuana,” “Los Elegidos”), “Las Azules” aka “The Women In Blue” features an intriguing premise. Set in 1970 and inspired by true events, the series tells the story of four women who defy the ultra-conservative norms of the time and join Mexico’s first female police force, only to discover that their squad is a publicity stunt to distract the media from a brutal serial killer. Outraged, as the body count grows, the women make a pact to bring the killers to justice. Amorita Rasgado, Natalia Téllez, Ximena Sariñana, Christian Tappan, Miguel Rodarte, and  Leonardo Sbaraglia co-star.
Premiere Date:  TBD summer on Apple TV+.
