Coming In 2026
First of all, if you’re asking, “Where’s___________?!?,” slow your roll for a second. In case you missed the announcement, even though it was pretty obvious, HBO’s “Euphoria” season three won’t return until 2026. Max’s “Lanterns,” a Green Lanterns series starring Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre won’t arrive until the summer of the following year. What else is not coming in 2025, very likely Apple TV+’s “Monarch” season two, HBO’s “House Of The Dragon” season three, Netflix’s “3 Body Problem” season two from the “Game Of Thrones” creators, and Amazon’s “Fallout” season two. Hell, even the Untitled “Harry Potter” series was recently bumped to a 2027 timeline.

Prime Video has confirmed that the fifth and final season of “The Boys” won’t hit until 2026 and Marvel series like “VisionQuest,” “Daredevil: Born Again,” season two, and “X-Men ‘97” season two definitely won’t arrive next year. Another one we were looking forward to, “Big Swiss,” from Adam McKay, A24, HBO, writer Kayleigh Llewellyn, and starring Jodie Comer, hasn’t even shot yet, and apparently still in development, so it might be a while.
Honorable Mention
OK, what else is coming in 2025 that’s interesting? HBO has “The Gilded Age” season three, “And Just Like That” season three, and MAX has the Emmy-winning “Hacks” season four, the Noah Wylie-starring medical drama, “The Pitt,” and “Duster,” a ‘70s crime drama starring Josh Holloway as produced by J.J. Abrams.
Apple TV+ will likely give us things like the fifth season of their excellent spy series, “Slow Horses” with Gary Oldman, “Platonic” season two with Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne, “Hijack” season two starring Idris Elba, “The Last Thing He Told Me” with Jennifer Garner, and certainly “Mythic Quest” season four (January 29), “Prime Target,” starring Leo Woodall and Quintessa Swindell (January 22), and the Gugu Mbatha-Raw-starring “Surface” (February 21). New shoes that Apple may premiere this year include “Down Cemetery Road” starring Emma Thompson, Ruth Wilson and coming from Mick Herron and the “Slow Horses” team, and the comedy “Government Cheese “ with David Oyelowo (April 16, 2025).

Over at Amazon, “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” husband-and-wife show creators Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino announced their new streaming series from Prime Video, the ballet drama “Étoile,” but thanks to the strikes it was delayed until this year. The Prime Video streaming channel will also have “Batman: Caped Crusader” season two, the Sophie Turner-starring heist thriller, “Haven” directed by “I May Destroy You” helmer Sam Miller, the Bill Nighy and Sam Claflin thriller “Lazarus,” the Blumhouse produced, Kevin Bacon-starring horror-actioner “The Bondsman,” the David Duchovny thriller “Malice,” the spy thriller “Butterfly“ with Daniel Dae Kim and “Gen V” season two (again it’s unclear what’s now happening with “Good Omens” season three given it was halted in the wake of Neil Gaiman accusations).
Netflix should have many returning shows like “The Witcher” season four now starring Liam Hemsworth, “The Sandman” season two (which is probably final now given all the Neil Gaiman problems), “Black Mirror” season seven, maybe “Night Manager” season two with Tom Hiddleston, “Love, Death & Robots” season four, and the fifth and final season of the psychological thriller “You.” The still has a glut of content and some shows include “Toxic Town” created by Jack Thorne, starring Jodie Whittaker; Shonda Rhimes’ new White-House set screwball whodunit “The Residence,” starring “Orange Is the New Black” breakout Uzo Aduba, Andre Braugher, Ken Marino, Jason Lee, Edwina Findley and more; the Jack Thorne drama “Adolescence” with Stephen Graham; “The Choice” featuring Julie Delpy as French Prime Minister; Gillian Anderson and Lena Headey starring in the Western drama series “The Abandons” from “Sons Of Anarchy” creator, Kurt Sutter; Claire Danes and Matthew Rhys in “The Beast In Me”; the wellness thriller “Apple Cider Vinegar” with Kaitlyn Dever; “House Of Guinness” from “Peaky Blinders” creator Steven Knight; Mindy Kaling’s baseball comedy “Running Point” starring Kate Hudson; “How To Get To Heaven From Belfast” from the creator of “Derry Girls” and “Wayward” featuring Mae Martin, Toni Collette and Sarah Gadon.
Disney/Hulu and FX should have lots to offer too, including the FX Gen Z comedy “Adults,” another Ryan Murphy horror/sci-fi show “The Beauty” starring Evan Peters, “Nine Perfect Strangers” season two with Nicole Kidman and many more, season three of “Star Wars: Visions,” “Washington Black” starring Sterling K Brown and “Paradise” with Brown as well. Other highlights to look for are the “Doctor Who” spin-off, “The War Between The Land & The Sea” featuring Gugu Mbatha-Raw, The true-crime miniseries “Natalia” with Mark Duplass and Ellen Pompeo, the Mindy Kaling comedy “Murray Hill,” the comedy “Deli Boys” starring Asif Ali, Saagar Shaikh, and Poorna Jagannathan and possibly the “Amanda Knox” mini-series starring Grace Van Patten if it’s finished in time.
In 2025, Paramount/Showtime will have “Yellowjackets” season three (February 14), “Star Terk: Starfleet Academy” with Holly Hunter and Paul Giamatti, “Happy Face,” a true crime show starring Dennis Quaid from the creators of “The Good Wife” and “Evil, “Tales of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” season two, and the James Norton and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau leading 1066 drama “King & Conquerer.” We’re pretty sure “Super Pumped” season two, Brian Koppelman and David Levien’s new series centered around Facebook didn’t even shoot, despite a season two greenlight. It’s unclear what’s up with that and other potential Taylor Sheridan shows could be “Mayor Of Kingstown” season four, or one of the many additional “Yellowstone” spin-offs he keeps threatening to make like the Texas-set “6666.”
Peacock highlights for 2025 include “Lockerbie: A Search For Truth” starring Colin Firth, Jim Sheridan and more, “All Her Fault” featuring “Succession” star Sarah Snook and Jake Lacy, “Devil In Disguise: John Wayne Gacy,” a serial killer series starring Michael Chernus and James Badge Dale, and a still-untitled James Wan-produced thriller starring Simu Liu.
STARZStarz will have course have the final season of “Outlander” (likely parts one and two) and potentially the upcoming prequel series, while AMC+ will boast “Mayfair Witches” season two with Alexandra Daddario, season three of “Dark Winds” and a new show, “Anne Rice’s The Talamasca,” with John Lee Hancock as a co-showrunner, co-writer, exec producer and director.
BBC/C4/Sky: It’s a real crap shoot on what airs in the U.K. and what comes to the U.S., and how much it’s promoted, BBC’s “The Listener,” for example. starred Rebecca Hall and was directed by Janicza Bravo (“Zola”) which sounds excellent, but it’s unclear if that’s ever coming to the U.S. other than probably being quietly dumped on a streaming service eventually (often with little to no marketing, to be clear, we hope that’s not the case). To that end, we’re a little cagey about putting some of these things on the main list, but highlights and things to look out for are the new “Peaky Blinders” type show “Dope Girls” starring Julianne Nicholson; “Lockerbie” with Eddie Marsan and Merritt Wever and may appear on Netflix next year (separate from the Peacock version with Colin Firth); Jack Thorne’s “Lord Of The Flies” with “The Sympathizer” director Marc Munde; the series remake of Danish film “Holiday” from the team that brought you “Baby Reindeer”; “Luther” creator Neil Cross’ new show “Iris” starring Tom Hollander; crime thriller “Under Salt Marsh” starring Kelly Reilly, Rafe Spall, Jonathan Pryce, and Harry Lawtey also sounds really intriguing.
