'The Beanie Bubble' Trailer: Elizabeth Banks & Zach Galifianakis Lead Cast Of Apple's Upcoming Movie About Beanie Babies

Apple Original Films already released one movie this year that takes on the popular corporate/workplace drama with “Tetris.” Now they have another film in that vein out next month, but with a more comedic bent, and a star of HBO‘s “Succession” in the cast ranks.

That’s right, Sarah Snook stars alongside Zach GalifianakisElizabeth Banks, and Geraldine Viswanathan in “The Beanie Bubble,” Apple’s look at the Beanie Baby craze of the mid-’90s. Based on Zac Bissonnette‘s book, the film follows the rise of Ty Warner’s stuffed animals into becoming one of the world’s biggest toy crazes.

Why did the world suddenly treat stuffed animals like gold? Ty Warner was a frustrated toy salesman until his collaboration with three women grew his masterstroke of an idea into the biggest toy craze in history. “The Beanie Bubble” is an inventive story about what and who we value, and the unsung heroes whose names didn’t appear on the heart-shaped tag. 

“The Beanie Bubble” also stars Kurt YaegerTracey Bonner, and Carl Clemons-Hopkins.  

Kristin Gore and Damian Kulash, Jr co-direct “The Beanie Bubble.” Gore also pens the film’s script. Kulash, the lead singer of OK Go, provides music for “The Beanie Bubble” with Nathan Barr. Producers on the film include Brian GrazerRon Howard, and Karen Lunder through Imagine Entertainment. Galifianakis serves as co-executive producer with Douglas S. Jones.
