'The Bear' Trailer: A Young Chef Returns To Chicago In New FX On Hulu Show This June

What to expect from FX’s latest original show on Hulu? A hot kitchen, family, Chicago –and the occasional searing burn. “The Bear” stars Jeremy Allen White as a young chef who returns to the Windy City after a tragic family death to take over the family sandwich shop. Far away from what he’s used to, “Carmy” may discover what he truly needs.

Here’s the show’s official synopsis, courtesy of FX:

“The Bear” follows Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto, a young chef from the fine-dining world, who comes home to Chicago to run his family sandwich shop – The Original Beef of Chicagoland – after a heartbreaking death in his family. A world away from what he’s used to, Carmy must balance the soul-crushing realities of small business ownership, his strong-willed and recalcitrant kitchen staff, and his strained familial relationships, all while grappling with the impact of his brother’s suicide. The Bear is about food, family, the insanity of the grind, the beauty of Sense of Urgency, and the steep, slippery downsides. As Carmy fights to transform both The Original Beef of Chicagoland and himself, he works alongside a rough-around-the-edges kitchen crew that ultimately reveal themselves as his chosen family.

Alongside White, “The Bear” also stars Ebon Moss-BachrachAyo EdebiriAbby ElliottLionel Boyce, and Liza Colón-Zayas.  Edwin Lee Gibson and celebrity chef Matty Matheson also have recurring roles.

Christopher Storer serves as showrunner on “The Bear.” He’s also co-executive producer with “BoJack Horseman” producer Joanna Calo and Hiro Murai, and Nate Matteson from HBO’sStation Eleven.” Matheson also serves as co-producer with John Senior and Tyson Bidner, who worked with Storer on the Hulu show “Ramy.”
