'The Book Of Clarence' Teaser: LaKeith Stanfield Tries To Be The New Jesus In Jeymes Samuel's Upcoming Drama

No matter if you’re a Christian or not, you’ve likely heard the story of Jesus Christ. But have you heard the story of Clarence? “The Book of Clarence” is here to fill you in.

As seen in the new teaser for “The Book of Clarence,” the film follows the story of a young guy who is witnessing the rise of Jesus Christ. Down on his luck, the young Clarence decides that he wants to become the new Messiah, as he begins to con his way into having some believers. But, as you might expect, things don’t necessarily turn out the way Clarence anticipated. 

The film features an incredible cast that includes LaKeith Stanfield, Omar Sy, Anna Diop, RJ Cyler, David Oyelowo, Micheal Ward, Alfre Woodard, Teyana Taylor, Caleb McLaughlin, Eric Kofi-Abrefa, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, James McAvoy, and Benedict Cumberbatch. ‘Clarence’ is written and directed by Jeymes Samuel, the filmmaker behind the acclaimed Western, “The Harder They Fall.” In addition to writing and directing, Samuel is also contributing new music to the film alongside Jay-Z and more.
