'The Eternals': 'Game Of Thrones' Actor Richard Madden Reportedly Joining The Marvel Studios Film

From “Game of Thrones” to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Not a bad way to ensure that you’re going to be a huge name for decades to come at any Comic-Con across the world. And that’s exactly what lies ahead for Richard Madden, as it’s being reported that he’ll be joining the cast of “The Eternals.”

The Wrap is reporting that Madden is in talks to join the cast of the upcoming superhero blockbuster. And with this announcement, the main roster of “The Eternals” is beginning to truly take shape. Madden will join previously reported actors Angelina Jolie, Kumail Nanjiani, and Ma Dong-seok in the cast.

“The Eternals” is based on the Jack Kirby comic book series of the same name and follows a superpowered group of ancient humans that were created by Marvel deities The Celestials. The comic book series saw the group fight all sorts of villains both on Earth and throughout the cosmos. Long story short, Marvel Studios can shape the film into anything it wants.

While the exact roles have yet to be released, Variety is reporting that Madden is set to play Ikaris, who is long thought as the main hero of the group. However, speculation says that Jolie’s character Sersi will be the true center of the story.

Madden is best known for his work as Robb Stark on the HBO series “Game of Thrones.” He recently turned heads in the hit British thriller series “Bodyguard.” The actor will next be seen in the upcoming Elton John biopic “Rocketman.”

“The Eternals” has yet to be announced, but we know that the film will be directed by “The Rider” filmmaker Chloe Zhao and is expected to be released in 2020.
