As seen in the trailer, “The Family Plan” is a film that follows a suburban dad with a secret. You see, back before he got married, had three kids, and bought a minivan, this dad was a covert CIA assassin. Well, wouldn’t you know it? The suburban dad has to reckon with his past after years away when a group of bad guys threatens to blow his cover and hurt his family. The solution? Go on a road trip to Vegas and start a new life with your family. Hijinks (and action) ensue.

The cast for this action-comedy is led by Mark Wahlberg and Michelle Monaghan. “The Family Plan” is helmed by Simon Cellan Jones, a veteran TV director with credits such as “The Expanse,” “Ballers,” “See,” and “The Diplomat.

“The Family Plan” debuts on Apple TV+ on December 15. You can watch the trailer below.

Here’s the synopsis:

Dan Morgan (Mark Wahlberg) loves his quiet suburban life as a devoted husband, father of three and successful car salesman. But that’s only half the story. Decades earlier, he was an elite government assassin tasked with eliminating the world’s deadliest threats. When enemies from his past track him down, Dan packs his unsuspecting wife (Michelle Monaghan), angsty teen daughter, pro-gamer teen son and adorable 10-month-old baby into their minivan and takes off on an impromptu cross-country road trip to Las Vegas. Determined to protect his family — while treating them to the vacation of a lifetime — Dan must put his long-dormant skills into action, without revealing his true identity.
