This fall, an Australian-made comedy, “The Fox,” is coming to theaters over there, and a new teaser trailer has been revealed, showcasing the bonkers nature of the comedy that features talking animals with Oscar-winner Olivia Colman (“The Favourite,” “The Roses”) lending her voice for the titular fox opposite Jai Courtney (“Dangerous Animals”) and Emily Browning (“Legend”).
The satirical nature of the original movie isn’t terribly surprising, as it hails from writer/director Dario Russo, who was behind the viral and memed parody superhero short film “Italian Spider-Man.” Others among the impressive cast include Damon Herriman (“Mr. Inbetween,” “Mindhunter”), Claudia Doumit (“The Boys”), Zlatko Burić (“Superman,” “Triangle of Sadness”), Frankie J. Holden, Heather Mitchell, Kim Gyngell, and veteran Kiwi actor Sam Neill (“Hunt For The Wilderpeople”).

An official logline for the comedy courtesy of Madman Films:
Nick (Courtney), affable heir to a wealthy rural landowner, discovers his fiancée, Kori (Browning), is cheating on him and wants nothing more than to just fix the problem. One night, he captures a rogue Fox (Colman), and she offers him a trade-off: if Nick lets her live, the Fox will help him save his relationship. All he has to do is push Kori into a magic hole with the power to change her into the perfect partner. Nick follows the Fox’s advice, and the Kori who re-emerges seems to be everything he ever wanted. Until her strange new quirks make him question his decision.
If you weren’t aware, the flick had previously debuted at the Sydney Film Festival and SXSW, garnering solid critical acclaim.
“The Fox” is heading to Aussie theaters on October 29 and looks to be a surprisingly fun upcoming flick. We cannot wait to learn when North American audiences will get a chance to check out Russo’s visually striking satire.
