‘The Quiet Ones’ Trailer: Danish Heist Film Hits Theaters On February 21

When it comes to crime movies, heist movies may be the best of the genre, or at least the most delightfully tense. Think of “Rififi,” Michael Mann’s movies “Thief” and “Heat,” or the “Ocean’s” films. Will a crew execute their meticulous plans to pull off an audacious score work or not? And if they do, will they get away with it? The Danish film “The Quiet Ones” looks to raise those stakes.

How so? Well, mainly because the film takes its story cues from a real-life heist from 2008, the biggest in Denmark’s history. But will this ragtag European team evade capture after risking everything?

Here’s the official synopsis for “The Quiet Ones,” courtesy of Magnet Releasing:

In 2008, a group of men from Denmark and across Europe pulled off the biggest heist of all time on Danish soil. Kasper, a boxer with few chances left in life, is offered the opportunity to plan the robbery by its foreign initiators. At the risk of losing his family and everything that matters to him, he takes on the challenge in a bid to break all records and secure his place in the history books. THE QUIET ONES is a suspenseful action thriller depicting a team of ambitious and uncompromising criminals who all share the same goal: to achieve the impossible— despite great obstacles and personal costs.

“The Quiet Ones” stars Reda Kateb, Gustave Giese, and Amanda Collin. The film also stars Christopher Wagelin, Jens Hultén, Granit Rushiti, and Amin Ahmed.

Frederick Louis Hviid directs a script by Anders Frithiof August.  Kasper Dissing produces the film.

“The Quiet Ones” had its world premiere last year at TIFF, where it received mixed-to-positive reviews from critics.

“The Quiet Ones” hits theaters on February 21. Watch a trailer for the crime film below.
