Things are revving up for television productions this winter and spring. And that means casting notices are being increasingly leaked to the press. Today, it was revealed that Mike White’s highly anticipated “The White Lotus” has cast AJ Michalka and Alexander Ludwig for key roles in season 4. HBO confirmed the news on social media.

This news comes after it was leaked earlier this week that two-time Oscar nominee and five-time Emmy Award nominee Helena Bonham Carter is in talks for a major role.
Confirmed to be set in the South of France, season four is expected to shoot at the Four Seasons Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat. On the opposite end of Nice from Cannes, it’s curious if White will attempt to tie in the famed film festival into this season or look to the extravagant monarchy of Monte Carlo, just 15 km away. As always, plot details are being kept under wraps with HBO only confirming the new season will once again follow the lives of White Lotus hotel guests and employees over one week.
A member of the musical duo Aj and Aly, Michalka is best known on the small screen for her roles in “The Goldbergs,” its spin-off “Schooled,” and voicing the animated reboot of “She-Ra: Princess of Power.” Her film credits include “Super 8,” “The Lovely Bones,” and “Secretariat.”
Ludwig has a long string of film credits, including “The Hunger Games,” “Grown Ups 2,” “Midway,” and “Bad Boys: Ride or Die,” but is best known for his role on seasons 2 through 6 of “Vikings.” This is hands down the most “prestige” project of his career so far.
Over three seasons, “The White Lotus” has been a career springboard for underrecognized actors, at that time, such as Theo James, Meghann Fahy, Jake Lacey, Murray Bartlett, Haley Lu Richardson, Lukas Gage, and Fred Hechinger, among others.
“The White Lotus” season 4 is expected to arrive in 2027.
