We are less than a month away from the theatrical release of Luca Guadagnino’s “Suspiria” remake. After a ton of hype leading up to its Venice Film Festival premiere, the horror film has received rave reviews, with some people around here calling it a masterpiece. As if the buzz and anticipation couldn’t be higher, it seems to keep building, as Thom Yorke releases another track from his upcoming “Suspiria” soundtrack. And unsurprising, it’s pretty great.
The track “Has Ended” is the second piece of music that the Radiohead frontman has shared from the music he composed for Guadagnino’s upcoming film. Yorke’s soundtrack is said to be a mixture of traditional score with some more conventional songs. While the first track, “Suspirium,” would probably fall into the “songs” category, “Has Ended” has a more atmospheric, score quality to it, even accompanied by the haunting vocals.
The video that accompanies the song is very similar to the one that was released with “Suspirium.” The neon colors bring to mind Dario Argento’s work on the original “Suspiria,” with the figures dancing and moving to the creepy, otherworldly music.

You are probably aware that the “Suspiria” soundtrack marks Yorke’s first film work, and he really couldn’t have picked a more high-profile gig. The film is easily one of the fall’s must-see films, considering Yorke’s involvement, the incredible cast, and of course, Guadagnino coming off his critically-acclaimed, award-winning success directing last year’s “Call Me By Your Name.”
Yorke’s soundtrack will be released by XL Recordings on October 26, just in time for audiences to experience the film for the first time.
