'The Afterparty': Tiffany Haddish, Ilana Glazer, Dave Franco & More To Star In Lord & Miller's Apple TV+ Series

Phil Lord and Chris Miller are filmmakers that really have earned our trust over the past several years. Thanks to films like “The LEGO Movie,” the ‘21 Jump Street’ franchise, and “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” these filmmakers have the benefit of the doubt no matter what the project is. However, with the upcoming series, “The Afterparty,” it appears that there’s very little to doubt, as the comedy is stacked with some incredible actors.

According to Apple, Lord and Miller have landed an incredible, star-studded cast for their upcoming Apple TV+ series, “The Afterparty.” The ensemble will feature Tiffany Haddish, Sam Richardson, Zoe Chao, Ben Schwartz, Ike Barinholtz, Ilana Glazer, Dave Franco, Jamie Demetriou, and John Early. “The Afterparty” follows the story of a high school reunion afterparty through the point of view of the various people attending. Each episode is a look at the same party from the perspective of a different person.

Obviously, we can’t go through each and every person in the cast and explain why they’re perfect for this type of series. Haddish, Schwartz, Barinholtz, Glazer, and Franco, in particular, have proven themselves to be very capable at comedic roles, especially in ensemble situations. That said, personally, I’d like to give a special shoutout to John Early, who is an incredibly underrated comedic actor that steals nearly every scene he’s in over the course of three seasons of “Search Party.” So, it’s great that he’s getting such a high-profile series to act in.
