'Tiger' Trailer: Alex Gibney-Produced Doc Tackles The Rise & Fall Of Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods is an athlete on the level of Michael Jordan, Tom Brady, Babe Ruth, or Kobe Bryant. These are names that just about everyone on the planet knows, even if they’re not fans of sports. And in the case of Tiger Woods, that sort of fame led to one of the most shocking falls from grace and comebacks in sports history, which is documented in the new doc, “Tiger.”

As seen in the trailer for “Tiger,” the two-part documentary starts at the very beginning, when the young boy’s father seemingly does everything in his power to make sure his son, Tiger, is a world-class golfer from the age of 1. From there, the film charts the meteoric rise of Woods, as he becomes one of the greatest to ever play the game. But obviously, if you know Woods’ story, then you’re just waiting for the scandal and it’s clear that “Tiger” will dig deep into what drove the athlete to almost throw everything away.

The HBO doc is produced by Alex Gibney, alongside Sam Pollard, Stacey Offman, Richard Perello, Armen Keteyian, and Jeff Benedict. “Tiger” is directed by acclaimed filmmakers Matthew Heineman and Matthew Hamachek.

The two-part HBO Doc, “Tiger,” will debut on January 10, 2021 with the second part airing the following week on January 17. You can watch the trailer below.
