'Tina' Teaser: HBO's Upcoming Doc About Tina Turner Arrives In March

Terms like “diva,” “star,” “legend,” and “icon” get thrown around a lot when you discuss musicians and singers from the past 50 years. But honestly, when you stop and think about it, is there a singer that better epitomizes those words than Tina Turner? Well, in the upcoming documentary, “Tina,” HBO hopes to convince you that Turner was…uh, simply the best.

As seen in the teaser for “Tina,” the new feature-length documentary (remember when docs weren’t broken up into eight-part series?), the life and career of Tina Turner gets put in the spotlight. From her humble beginnings to her rise decades ago and her continued legacy, every aspect of Tina Turner’s legendary career is glimpsed. And yes, even her tumultuous personal life, which quickly became fodder for tabloids and rumors.

The new feature documentary is directed by Dan Lindsay and T.J. Martin. In addition to footage from her career and life, “Tina” also includes interviews with folks like Angela Bassett, Oprah Winfrey, journalist Kurt Loder, playwright Katori Hall, and Tina’s husband Erwin Bach.
