In the age of remakes, reboots, and revivals, nothing is sacred. Not even a classic Hitchcock film is safe from Hollywood’s greedy little paws. In fact, if it was already a beloved film, such as the 1955 feature, “To Catch a Thief,” why wouldn’t you take the bones of the film, modernize it for today’s audiences and throw an A-lister like Gal Gadot in there and hope for huge profits? That’s just studio math, people!
According to Deadline, that’s exactly what Paramount is working on right now. Apparently, the studio has signed screenwriter Eileen Jones to pen the script for a remake of the 1955 film, “To Catch a Thief,” with an eye on Gal Gadot to star in the film. The original is directed by Alfred Hitchcock and stars Cary Grant as a reformed thief being accused of returning to his criminal ways and must convince everyone he is on the straight and narrow.
It’s unclear what type of plans Paramount has for the remake, as far as updates to the plot and how Gal Gadot fits into all of it. You have to assume that Gadot would take that lead role, however.

Gadot has a number of high-profile films on the horizon. Coming first, in February, is the highly-anticipated “Death on the Nile,” from filmmaker Kenneth Branagh. After that, she is currently developing films such as “Cleopatra,” “Snow White,” and eventually “Wonder Woman 3.”
It’s still far too early to know when we might see the “To Catch a Thief” remake arrive in theaters. But with Gadot attached, Paramount will definitely want to get this going as soon as possible.
