After trying to reboot the “Tomb Raider” franchise with Oscar-winner Alicia Vikander as beloved video game heroine Lara Croft, Norwegian filmmaker Roar Uthaug is returning to his roots with a sequel to his 2022 film “Troll” with Netflix‘s upcoming “Troll 2.”
A mix of adventure beats and Norwegian lore, the streaming giant has sent over a teaser trailer for “Troll 2” and gives us an idea of where the story is going next, which focuses on giant trolls that have been hiding in plain sight in nature for ages.

Uthaug developed the film’s story with screenwriter Espen Aukan, who penned the main script with a producing team that features Espen Horn and Kristian Strand Sinkerud. The cast assembled for the sequel consists of Ine Marie Wilmann, Kim Falck, Mads Sjøgård Pettersen, and Sara Khorami.

When a dangerous new troll is awakened, unleashing devastation across Norway, beloved adventurers Nora, Andreas, and Captain Kris are thrust into their most perilous mission yet. As the clock ticks and the troll’s path of destruction grows wider, our heroes face impossible odds in their fight to save their homeland from falling into darkness.
