While the Cannes Film Festival prides itself on their numerous world premieres, each year they reserve a couple of slots for Sundance Film Festival entries of note. And given how stacked the Cannes lineup is this year, it makes it all the more impressive that “Captain Fantastic” was part of the selection.
Written and directed by Matt Ross, and starring Viggo Mortensen, Kathryn Hahn, Steve Zahn, and Frank Langella, the story follows a man whose idyllic family life in the wilderness is brought to halt when his wife passes away, and he has to bring the kids into the big city for the first time.
