In honor of “Violation” poised to make its debut at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival, we’re thrilled to give our readers an exclusive first look at the thriller about broken trust between two sisters. “Violation” follows the story of Miriam, a woman that returns to her hometown to recalibrate her life as she deals with a failing marriage. However, when her trust in her sister and brother-in-law is broken, Miriam’s world begins to unravel and revenge begins to cloud her judgment.
The exclusive clip is only a couple of minutes long but shows the trust between the sisters and just hints at the betrayal to come. What is the secret that is about to be shared? Folks at TIFF will be the first to truly find out.
The film stars Madeleine Sims-Fewer, Anna Maguire, Jesse LaVercombe, and Obi Abili. Sims-Fewer is actually wearing quite a few hats during the production of “Violation.” Not only does she star, but she also co-wrote and co-directed the feature alongside Dusty Mancinelli.
“Violation” is set to make its World Premiere at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival. The film has been selected as part of the event’s Midnight Madness program. With her marriage about to implode, Miriam returns to her hometown to seek solace in the comfort of her younger sister and brother-in-law. But one evening a tiny slip in judgement leads to a catastrophic betrayal, leaving Miriam shocked, reeling, and furious. Believing her sister to be in danger, Miriam decides she must protect her at all costs, but the price of revenge is high and she is not prepared for the toll it takes as she begins to emotionally and psychologically unravel
