Watch: Chris Hemsworth Has A Whale Of An Adventure In Final Trailer For 'In The Heart Of The Sea'

In The Heart of the SeaIf you’re getting a creeping sensation of deja vu, that somehow you’ve already seen marketing for "In The Heart Of The Sea," and possibly even seen the movie already, you’re not entirely wrong. Warner Bros. had launched the campaign for the Chris Hemsworth starring vehicle over a year ago, in preparation for a release this past March. However, they soon switched gears, and pushed the movie all the way back to a primetime December date, showing some confidence in a very competitive month.

“They analyzed the way people are responding to our movie now which is very favorable now that it’s finished, the way people responded to the marketing materials, and they also looked out how the market expanded this last Christmas increasing a wide array of movies,” director Ron Howard told THR earlier this year about the move. "There was a larger audience. I wanted as many people to see this movie on the big screen as possible and I do feel like it’s more of that fourth quarter, early winter kind of feel in terms of the tone of the movie."

And so, the promotional machine is gearing back up, with a new trailer for the picture now arriving. It will tell the true story of the tale inspired by Herman Melville‘s epic "Moby Dick," with Benjamin Walker, Cillian Murphy, Ben Whishaw, and Brendan Gleeson, also coming aboard the watery tale. Here’s the official synopsis:

In the winter of 1820, the New England whaling ship Essex was assaulted by something no one could believe: a whale of mammoth size and will, and an almost human sense of vengeance. The real-life maritime disaster would inspire Herman Melville’s Moby-Dick. But that told only half the story. “Heart of the Sea” reveals the encounter’s harrowing aftermath, as the ship’s surviving crew is pushed to their limits and forced to do the unthinkable to stay alive. Braving storms, starvation, panic and despair, the men will call into question their deepest beliefs, from the value of their lives to the morality of their trade, as their captain searches for direction on the open sea and his first mate still seeks to bring the great whale down.
