We got a taste of what the newly revitalized Hammer was cooking up following their smash hit “The Woman In Black,” when they dropped a teaser for their next effort “The Quiet Ones” on Halloween. And while the day of the Oscar nominations don’t quite carry the same aura of terror, they’re nonetheless delivered a full length look at the next chiller.
Starring Jared Harris, Sam Claflin, Erin Richards, Rory Fleck-Byrne, and Olivia Cooke, and boasting a co-writing credit by Oren Moverman (“The Messenger,” “Rampart” — the reason why our butts will in the theaters for this), the story follows a charismatic professor who takes a group of students off the grid, to take part in a dangerous experiment to create a poltergeist from negative human energy. And they’ll use the pysche of a disturbed young woman as a conduit to channel the supernatural. What could possibly go wrong!?
