Watch: New Clips From 'Marley,' 'Bel Ami' & 'Detachment'

Well, the big eye-melting, popcorn munching, wallet-gouging blockbuster season kicks off this weekend with “John Carter,” but don’t worry, you don’t have to leave your brain in the parking lot as there are still going to be plenty of films that don’t require 3D glasses.

Reggae legend Bob Marley gets the big screen, documentary treatment with the appropriately named “Marley.” The film premiered at the Berlin Film Festival last month, and while we had our concerns in our review that it was a bit too wide-eyed about its subject, he still remains a fascinating topic. And indeed, this clip from the Kevin Macdonald-directed movie shows that even what seems to be mere minutiae about his life somehow leads to a deeper understanding of the man. Light up a big one and see the film when Magnolia Pictures releases it into theaters on April 20th.

In “Bel Ami” we’ll catch up with Robert Pattinson using his hawtness for evil instead of good. Taking the lead role of the adaptation of the Guy De Maupassant novel, he plays Georges Duroy, a man who runs a train through a variety of women to boost his bank account and social standing. And you thought online dating was a nightmare. In this clip, we see RPatz eye-fuck the hell out of young debutante worth $13 million francs. Damn. “Bel Ami” opens in the U.K. tomorrow, but there is no stateside date yet.

Finally, ComingSoon have another clip from Tony Kaye‘s classroom drama “Detachment.” The film features a large ensemble led by Adrien Brody, in a story that explores the current climate in schools from the perspective of teachers and students. It’s all done via a wild handheld style that serves to amp up the drama, and this scene, in which James Caan hilariously deconstructs a student’s threat, adds an extra level of in-your-face intensity. The film is currently on VOD and begins opening in limited release on March 16th.
