Got a Tip?

Watch: New ‘Game Of Thrones’ Cast Auditions, Even President Obama Asked About The Fate Of Jon Snow

nullSo the “Game Of Thrones” panel happened at Comic-Con and despite Emilia Clarke’s wild speculation and perhaps fan wishful thinking, no characters that were killed off in the final episode of “Game Of Thrones” season five were magically unkilled or appeared to greet fans with a surprise. In fact, neither Clarke, Lena Heady—or you know who, spoilers for those that haven’t caught up, but probably shouldn’t be reading this anyhow— Kit Harington or any of the show’s major stars were present. And no major news was revealed.

And in case your eyes deceived you and you somehow wondered if Stannis Baretheon was dead, the answer is yes (look, just cause they cut to black when someone’s head is getting chopped off, that doesn’t mean, the person is alive, it just means the show isn’t that gruesome).

‘GOT” director David Nutter confirmed to EW at Comic-Con that, duh, Stannis is really gone. “From the very beginning, and [through] the script process, that was the intent – he’s dead,” Nutter said. The director explained that actually showing the death would have felt “gratuitous.” No sh—and not that it’s going to matter to ‘GOT’ conspiracy theorists, but really people, you should move on.

We shouldn’t be too hard on audiences though. Even President Obama was in doubt and recently asked showrunners “You didn’t kill Jon Snow, did you?“ Nutter responded at Comic-Con: ”Mr. President, Jon Snow is deader than dead.“

There you go, no one could ever possibly lie to an American president. So while you stay in mourning, watch some “Game Of Thrones” auditions below and watch some clips that earned the cast members their gig. “Game Of Thrones” season six starts shooting this summer and presumably returns next spring.
