Watch: Olivia Wilde Works Her Magic In Clip From 'Butter'

nullAfter hitting the festival circuit last year, the political satiric comedy “Butter,” starring Jennifer Garner and Olivia Wilde, will finally hit theaters this Friday. In order to help get the word out, The Weinstein Company have dropped a saucy new clip from the film, which you can see below.

Originally pegged as a potential dark-horse awards contender, it didn't quite play out that way, so instead the Weinsteins waited a bit and decided to drop the movie just as the election is heating, which, given the subject matter, isn't a bad idea. The comedy, described as “a political allegory of the 2008 Democratic primaries,” follows Garner as the wife of disgraced butter-sculpting champion (Ty Burrell of “Modern Family” fame) with “aspirations for political office, who tries to take the mantle from her husband only to be thwarted by a young adopted African American girl.”

Garner and Burrell are, of course, the stand-ins for the Clintons, with Yaraha Shadidi as the young girl/Obama surrogate, while Burrell’s achilles heel is Wilde as the stripper Brooke (instead of an intern). The newly released clip shows just how bad Burrell has it for Wilde’s character, and is a pretty clever spin on typical stripper shop talk. Awards contender or not, the film seems like another solid VOD title to check out for those of you who don’t feel like leaving your couches this weekend.

“Butter” hits select theaters this Friday, October 5th. Check out the clip below. [MTV]
