So you’re wondering how Megan Fox is back in the Michael Bay fold, right? No, she’s not in “Transformers” once again, but she is the star of “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” the Platinum Dunes (Bay’s company)-produced picture. In the past, she called him Hitler, he had nasty words for her and there was a lot of back and forth (which lead to her being kicked out of the the series for “Transformers: Dark Of The Moon”).
So what happened? She doesn’t say exactly, but the actress does essentially chalk it up to forthrightness. “He was one of the most lovely people that I dealt with in making this movie,” she told Entertainment Weekly recently. “I’ve always loved Michael. We’ve had our battles in the past but even when I’ve been really outspoken about difficulties we’ve had, I’ve always followed up by saying that I have a particular affinity to him. He can be very vulnerable, and he’s very likeable and loveable. I’ve always been very vocal about that as well. But, sometimes we clash because we both have very willful, powerful personalities.”
What should we expect for her character in the ‘TMNT’ movies? “She’s more of a leader when she explores her relationship with the turtles instead of just the human companion that gets dragged along on the adventure,” Fox said of April O’Neil. “It’s more representative of a modern woman.” OK then.
Moving away from modern women to cartoons, Fox got certain nerds hot and bothered by hinting she’d like to play Sailor Moon in a movie. “That could feasibly be made into a live action movie,” Fox said. “I don’t know how many Americans were into that. I was into that, but I don’t know how huge it was here.” Commence the Kickstarter!
‘TMNT’ is directed by Jonathan Liebesman and opens August 8th. Check out the new TV spot below that shows off the first footage of the villain Shredder. Meanwhile, the MTV Movie Awards was the gift that keeps on giving, and during the show Universal unleashed a new TV spot from Tom Cruise’s “Groundhog’s Day”-esque sci-film “Edge Of Tomorrow” and Paramount unveiled a new “Hercules” TV spot starring Dwayne Johnson. The former lands in theaters June 6th and the latter smashes home on July 25th.
