With all the big movies swinging their dicks as December winds down, we nearly forgot about David Chase's "Not Fade Away." The feature debut from "The Sopranos" creator hasn't been making many waves, but it's still coming to theaters, hoping some of that old time rock 'n roll will find an audience.
The the film centers on a quartet of young lads — played by John Magaro, Jack Huston, Will Brill, Brahm Vaccarella) — who are inspired by the rising sounds of rock in 1960s New Jersey, and set out to form a band. As is usually the case when you're young and still living at home, a clash of cultures emerges, along with bracing reality of trying to make your dreams come true. But try they will and in this scene, the band — named The Twylight Zones — plays out a full song as part of an audition. Pretty tight, boys.
"Not Fade Away" gets on stage on December 21st. Check out the solid soundtrack details right here and our review.
