Coming off of 2011 with the dubious distinction of earning a record-breaking 11 Razzie nominations, Adam Sandler just keeps motoring along, and this summer he'll try again to make you laugh by dropping some F-bombs and wearing a mullet in "That's My Boy."
This newest movie does have potential, we suppose. It features a ridiculous sorta WTF ensemble — Andy Samberg, Leighton Meester, Ian Ziering, Vanilla Ice, James Caan, Will Forte, Milo Ventimiglia, Susan Sarandon — and will have Sandler playing Samberg's father who is about to be jailed for tax evasion, moves in with his son who bails him out, and looks to repair their relationship after years of bad parenting. Coming from Sean Anders and John Morris, the guys behind "Sex Drive," this is, as expected, some pretty no-brow humor, which will either work for you or not. However, we're hoping the wit of Ken Marino and David Wain, who did rewrites on the film, comes through. We have to say, "You puked on my dress and then you fucked it" is already our new catchphrase around the office.
So, a return to form? A much needed detour into R-rated comedy? Judge for yourself below. "That's My Boy" arrives just in time for Father's Day on June 15th.
