What’s next for Lady Gaga after the “Joker: Folie á Deux” debacle? THR reports that it’s a solid rebound for the pop icon and actress, who will appear in Netflix‘s upcoming season of “Wednesday.” Details on Gaga’s role in the series remain under wraps, but the “Addams Family” spinoff sounds like a perfect match for her.

“Wednesday” is currently in production in Ireland, with Gaga one of several new faces this season. Other Season 2 newcomers include Steve Buscemi, Billie Piper, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, and Noah Taylor. Guest roles this season include Christopher Lloyd, Joanna Lumley, Tandiwe Newton, Frances O’Connor, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, and Joonas Suotamo.
That bunch will join the show’s main cast, led by scream queen Jenna Ortega. Other main players include Hunter Doohan, Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Luis Guzmán, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Fred Armisen, Isaac Ordonez, and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo.
In one major way, it only makes sense for Lady Gaga to show up in the new season of “Wednesday.” A remix of her song “Bloody Mary” plays over Wednesday’s iconic Season One dance scene that quickly went viral after the show’s premiere in 2022. Maybe Gaga will supply her own rendition of the bit in S2? Whatever Gaga’s role ends up being, expect it to be significant. Netflix and “Wednesday” creators/showrunners Al Gough and Miles Millar want to capitalize on the show’s popularity, which is the streamer’s most popular English-language TV series to date.
So Lady Gaga takes a detour to TV as she awaits her next big screen role. She’s done TV before with two seasons of FX‘s “American Horror Story” under her belt, but Gaga started her movie career strong. She won an Oscar for Best Original Song and was nominated for Best Actress for 2018’s “A Star Is Born.” Other film credits include Ridley Scott‘s “House Of Gucci.”
With “Wednesday” in production now, expect it to hit Netflix in 2025.
