Woody Allen Finally Returns To The U.S., Will Shoot Next Film In San Francisco

nullThere has been no end to speculation about where Woody Allen would be making his next film. Copenhagen and Munich were two of the most recent cities said to be in the mix for the writer/director's next venture, while any possibility of the Allen returning to his native U.S. soil were long put to pasture as financing from American backers has been dry for years. But in a pleasant surprise, it looks like Woody won't need his passport for his next movie.

At the Italian premiere of his next effort "To Rome With Love," Allen denied previous reports regarding Copenhagen as possible location and confirmed his next movie will shoot in the U.S., mostly in San Francisco and "a little bit" in New York City. The film will mark his first U.S. based film since 2009's "Whatever Works" and only his second American film in about eight years. As for any other details, of course, they are under wraps.

Bradley Cooper and Cate Blanchett were recently rumored for roles, but it remains to be seen if that will pan out. Also no word on when this will shoot as his calendar is pretty busy at the moment. Allen is going in front of cameras for a rare acting gig in John Turturro's "Fading Gigolo" which shoots this month. He's also got "Bullets Over Broadway" headed to Broadyway in 2013. [Variety]
