Yesterday, we learned of yet another feature film coming from filmmaker Osgood Perkins and NEON with “Young People,” which is set to star actresses Lola Yung (“I Know What You Did Last Summer”) and Nico Parker (“How To Train Your Dragon,” “The Last of Us”).
Sadly, despite the announcement by NEON, we’re still in the dark about plot or character details, as those will be made public when they’re ready to let us know. Perkins, who will write and direct again, has been mostly focused on tackling the horror/thriller genre, which could likely mean “Young People” will also be another creepy horror tale. Given the filmmaker’s track record with genre material, we’re not automatically expecting some romantic drama or anything.

NEON and Perkins have a first-look deal through his production banner Phobos back in May with the buzzy studio co-financing “Young People” with help from Lyrical Media, as it will be released theatrically on an undetermined date.
As alluded to, Perkins has been a busy bee with his last handful of films, including the Nicholas Cage and Maika Monroe serial killer pic “Longlegs,” the Stephen King adaptation “The Monkey” starring Tatiana Maslany, who also toplines his next theatrical release, “Keeper,” on November 14. All three of those projects were also released in theaters by NEON.
Perkins is quickly becoming known for his speedy turnaround time on his recent feature efforts, “The Monkey and “Keeper,” which are impressively coming out in the same year. And this likely means that it won’t be too much longer before we learn about more cast members, and production on “Young People” could be just around the corner.
