A common plot in films and TV series is the moral dilemma where a parent must bend/break their own moral code to help save a child. This happens time and time again. And the reason it works so well is that, if you’re a parent, you can relate to the irrationality that takes hold when you’re left with a decision to do something irrefutably wrong to protect your kid. That’s exactly what drives the story of the new Showtime series, “Your Honor.”
As seen in the teaser for “Your Honor,” Bryan Cranston is put in that terrible position of protecting his son from what lies ahead. Cranston plays a respected judge that is forced to extreme measures after his son admits to being involved in a hit-and-run incident that results in death. And as you might expect, the cover-up becomes much more complicated and harrowing than the actual crime itself, as this man of the law throws his moral compass out of the window to do what he can to protect his son’s future.
Joining Cranston in the cast of this new drama are Hunter Doohan, Michael Stuhlbarg, Sofia Black-D’Elia, Carmen Ejogo, Isiah Whitlock Jr., and Hope Davis. “Your Honor” is executive produced by the duo of Robert and Michelle King, who is probably best known for their work on the CBS hit series, “The Good Wife.” The series is written by Peter Moffat, the writer-producer behind the acclaimed HBO drama series, “The Night Of.”
