Zoe Saldana And Kevin Feige Discuss A Couple Major Twists In 'Avengers: Infinity War'

**Spoilers for “Avengers: Infinity War”**

As the dust settles from the destruction seen in “Avengers: Infinity War,” it’s time to reflect on a couple of the major happenings from the film. As we’ve talked about previously, ‘Infinity War’ featured the “deaths” of a ton of characters, which has huge implications for the franchise moving forward. While many of the deaths are viewed as temporary, there are two major ones from the film that feel permanent, and now we have bit more background about their fates.

Right off the bat, the film opens with the death of one of the best characters in the whole Marvel Cinematic Universe, Loki. Played by Tom Hiddleston, Loki was last seen strangled to death by Thanos before collapsing to the ground. After being part of the MCU for over 7 years, you would think that the filming of that scene would be special for those involved. And according to Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, it was very emotional.

“So you have to imagine it’s emotional as they go through scenes that either represent, as I said, some sort of a curtain dropping, or just scenes that allow them to reflect on how far they’ve come, so there are a lot of days like that, that were emotional. And for Tom in particular, yeah, there was some. Some days were more emotional than others,” said Feige in an interview with The Wrap.

The other major seemingly permanent death (but we do have theories as to how this can easily be undone) is that of Gamora. The green Guardian of the Galaxy is played by Zoe Saldana, and in an interview with the Los Angeles Times, the actress details what it was like learning her fate:

“I learned very early on. The producers called me and they told me. And of course there’s a shock to your system. I’m so grateful, this run has been amazing, but you’re so not even ready for that. But then once some of the things were discussed, I understood that it just makes sense. In order for you to understand the degree of evil that lies within the core of Thanos, you have to circle in on his own children. So I completely understood. I loved being a part of this unforgettable journey.”

However, as we alluded to earlier, death is something that can be worked around in the world of superheroes. So, just because Gamora was last seen being thrown off a cliff and crashing to the ground, perhaps that’s not the end for Thanos’ daughter. But if that’s the case, Saldana is staying mum.

When asked if she was coming back, she said, “I don’t know. [Laughs] For the sake of the devoted fans out there — we don’t want to rob them of an amazing experience. It’s all for them that we do what we do and we also protect what we do.”

Hmmmm. Sounds fishy.
