Compiled for Mubi, the list is compiled chronologically, so forget about debating rankings. Instead, sit back and take in the breadth of titles selected, ranging from silent cinema’s finest through the heyday of American movies of the 1970s, right up to Nicolas Winding Refn‘s “The Neon Demon,” the most recent entry. And while I won’t even attempt to condense Wright’s choices into a summation of who he is as a director, I think the sampling below of pictures from 1980 speaks pretty well to his wide range of taste.
