Felicity Jones To Appear On Season 3 Of 'Girls'

She didn’t quite explode as instantly as some were predicting, but two years after her breakthrough role in “Like Crazy,” Felicity Jones is going to be inescapable soon. The actress has already been seen this year in her excellent reteam with Drake Doremus, “Breathe In,” and will be on the festival circuit in the fall with Ralph Fiennes‘ “The Invisible Woman.” Beyond that, 2014 will bring True Story with James Franco and Jonah Hill, Stephen Hawking biopic Theory Of Everything opposite Eddie Redmayne, and her blockbuster debut in a mysterious role in “The Amazing Spider-Man 2.” And somehow, Jones is finding time to squeeze in a part on one of our favorite TV shows.

Bleeding Cool noticed a tweet from director Jesse Peretz (who helmed “Our Idiot Brother” and several episodes of both “New Girl” and Lena Dunham’s show) that read “Insanely happy to be directing the hilarious Richard E Grant and the luminous Felicity Jones today.” Dunham then confirmed the news by posting an Instagram of Jones and co-star Jemima Kirke on-set. Oh, what a world we live in.

Could Jones be playing a friend or relative of Kirke’s character Jessa, then? It’d seem to make sense, but it’ll be a little while before we find out whether it’s a fleeting cameo or a more substantial guest appearance of the kind that Patrick Wilson or Ben Mendelsohn made last year. Either way, we’re big fans of Jones, and we think she’ll fit right in on “Girls” when it returns early next year.
