“Beef”
Following the success of Season 1, which starred Ali Wong and Steven Yeun, Season 2 of “Beef” returns with a new set of characters and a new location. Charles Melton and Cailee Spaeny play a couple who accidentally witness their boss and his wife, played by Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan, having an alarming fight. Following these events, the characters find themselves in a game of chess as they struggle for power to win the favor of their billionaire boss, who owns the country club where they all work. Youn Yuh-jung and Song Kang-ho also star, with creatorLee Sung Jin returning.
Release Date: Season 2 premieres April 16 on Netflix.
“Running Point”
Kate Hudson returns to the court following her Oscar-nominated turn in “Song Sung Blue” in “Running Point.” Following the events and scandal of Season 1, Season 2 finds Isla trying to establish herself and prove that she’s earned her spot of running her family’s pro-basketball team. Created by Elaine Ko, Mindy Kaling, Ike Barinholtz, and David Stassen, the series stars Drew Tarver, Brenda Song, Scott MacArthur, Fabrizio Guido, Chet Hanks, Toby Sandeman, Uche Agada, and Justin Theroux.

“Stranger Things Tales from ’85”
Despite the finality of the fifth and final season of “Stranger Things,” the Duffer Brothers weren’t finished with Hawkins. The two are producing the series “Stranger Things Tales from ’85,” with Eric Robles as showrunner. The animated series takes place between the second and third seasons of the show, following the characters as they fight monsters from the Upside Down and further untangle the mysteries of the town. Brett Gipson, Luca Diaz, Brooklyn Davey Norstedt, Braxon Quinney, Elisha Williams, Ben Plessala, Jolie Hoang-Rappaport, and Jeremy Jordan all voice the familiar characters, with Odessa A’zion joining as a new character.

“Widow’s Bay”
“Parks and Recreation” writer Katie Dippold brings horror and comedy together for the Apple TV series “Widow’s Bay.” Matthew Rhys stars as the mayor of a New England town whose superstitious residents believe the town is cursed. Stephen Root, Kate O’Flynn, Kingston Rumi Southwick, Kevin Carroll, and Dale Dickey all star. The series also has a stacked list of directors, including Hiro Murai (“Station Eleven,” “Barry,” “Atlanta”), Ti West (the “X” trilogy), and Andrew DeYoung (“Our Flag Means Death”, “The Chair Company.”)
Release Date: Season 1 premieres April 29 on Apple TV+.
“Man on Fire”
Yahya Abdul-Mateen II stars as an ex-mercenary in “Man on Fire.” The action thriller series is based on the novel of the same name, and its follow-up, “The Perfect Kill” by A.J. Quinnell. The series follows John Creasy as he struggles with PTSD while looking for a fresh start as he deals with his personal demons. However, he’s drawn back into action as he tries to protect the daughter of a fallen colleague. Billie Boullet, Alice Braga, Scoot McNairy, and Bobby Cannavale all appear.
