Oops: Matthew Michael Carnahan Writing Current Draft Of Ridley Scott's 'The Forever War,' Not David Webb Peoples

Yesterday, news flew around the web that David Webb Peoples was writing the last draft of Ridley Scott’s forever gestating “The Forever War” but it turns out that was a bit of old news.

Deadline reports that another three word name is currently working on the script: Matthew Michael Carnahan. Apparently, Peoples did work on the script but that was a while ago and Carnahan is currently taking a stab at yet another draft. Carnhan wrote “State Of Play” and “The Kingdom,” and recently turned in “World War Z” which has gained traction thanks to Brad Pitt attaching himself to the lead role.

So in short: “The Forever War” is still being written which means it’s probably not on deck, but remains one of many projects vying for Scott’s attention.
