Got a Tip?

‘Ant-Man 3’ Already Being Discussed

Ant-Man” may not be the biggest money earner in Marvel‘s roster — the film is only the 14th highest grossing movie in the cinematic universe (that’s out of seventeen pictures) — but it’s not every day you can take an obscure, oddball character to $519 million worldwide. So, a sequel was inevitably ordered up — this year’s “Ant-Man And The Wasp” — but it seems that the hero has a long future ahead of him on the big screen.

IGN caught up with the “Ant-Man” sidekick Michael Pena, and he admitted that chatter about a third instalment is already in the wind. “We talked about it on the first day [of ‘Ant-Man And The Wasp’]. It’s a whole different kind of club to be in, the Marvel Universe. I don’t know if they’ll use me for the third movie, I still really don’t know,” he said.” It’s cool to make a little bit of a mark on that Marvel Universe and it’s kind of a cool club, they run a really cool studio.”

Indeed, Pena’s future with franchise is a bit more uncertain, but the actor hopes that if he sticks around the MCU, he gets hobnob with some of the other characters and stars. In fact, despite making the forthcoming “12 Strong” with Chris Hemsworth, he didn’t even bring up rolling into the world of Thor.

“I didn’t but I should have so maybe I should say something? I’ve never worked with anyone else from the Marvel Universe. I’ve just worked with Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly and Michael Douglas which is a pretty cool list,” Pena said.

Actually, Pena’s Luis would actually be a perfect fit for the wacky humor of Taika Waititi. So maybe if it’s not a Thor movie, he can least line up something with the ‘Ragnarok‘ filmmaker. That’d be pretty cool.

“Ant-Man And The Wasp” opens on July 6th.
